WINGS’ 10th ANNIVERSARY LAUNCH PARTY! March 17th, 5.30-8.00pm (film screening at 6.45), Mesón Panza Verde, Antigua

WINGS’ story began 10 years ago when Sue Patterson received a request from a friend to fund voluntary tubal ligations for 7 women who each had at least 8 children. Realizing the immense need for reproductive health and family planning services in Guatemala, Sue founded WINGS. Today, WINGS runs five programs that reach more than 30,000 women, men and youth annually and that have won international recognition for innovation and effectiveness. Despite growing drastically over the past decade, WINGS has stayed true to its mission of creating opportunities for Guatemalan families to improve their lives by providing them with family planning education and access to reproductive health services. We accomplish this by offering subsidies for short- and long-term family planning methods, reproductive health and family planning education for women, men and adolescents, cervical cancer screening and treatment, advocacy to improve public health services, and training for other organizations on reproductive health and program development.

In honor of WINGS’ 10th Anniversary this year, we are holding a 10th Anniversary Launch Party at Panza Verde in Antigua (5a Av. Sur #19) on March 17th from 5:30-8pm.
The event will feature a screening of our new film documenting the efforts of WINGS’ Family Planning Educator, Evelyn Roquel, as she works to overcome some of the country’s most challenging socio-cultural barriers to health in the communities surrounding Lake Atitlan. A Q50 entrance fee includes a complimentary drink and hors d’oeuvres, with all proceeds benefiting WINGS. For more information on this event, please contact info@wingsguate.org.
